David "Fathead" Newman (February 24, 1933-January 23, 2009)
Born in Corsicana, Texas. Sideman for Ray Charles. Lead his own groups in New York City and performed with Herbie Mann, Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, Joe Cocker, Dr. John, and with Natalie Cole on her "Unforgettable" album.
