About this video:
Too bad that this is only a clip.
Born out of Chicago's AACM (the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians), the Art Ensemble of Chicago performed together under
various band names starting in in the mid-sixties.
The group included saxophonist Roscoe Mitchell, trumpeter, Lester Bowie and bassist Malachi Favors Maghostut.
In 1967 they were joined by fellow AACM members Joseph Jarman, saxophone and Phillip Wilson, drums.
Virtuosity, fun, and trascendent musicianship.
