Jazz on the Tube needs you

Our labor of love costs real money, about $1,500 a month in out-of-pocket expenses...

And that doesn't count the time put into sourcing videos, writing them up, and maintaining the world's biggest and most accurate database of jazz festivals, jazz clubs, jazz radio and jazz education on the Internet.

This July 4th week consider becoming a Friend of Jazz on the Tube.

"Les feuilles mortes"

"Autumn Leaves" is a widely celebrated jazz standard. Originally a song in French entitled "Les feuilles mortes" (which means "The Dead Leaves"), its music was composed by Joseph Kosma and its lyrics by Jacques Prévert. In 1947 Johnny Mercer, an American songwriter, wrote English lyrics.

The song was first released in 1945.

Here, the Bill Evans trio plays it as an jazz standard instrumental.

Bill Evans, piano
Eddie Gomez, bass
Alex Riel, drums
