The Shape of Jazz to Come (1959)

Pardon the silly ring tone ads. This was the best version of the recording I could find and the slide show was pretty good. (The violin Ornette plays in one of the photos is one I lent him in 1980.)

Ornette Coleman (alto sax)
Don Cherry (trumpet)
Charlie Hadden (bass)
Bill Higgins (drums)

Hard to believe four musicians can make so much music.

From the album "The Shape of Jazz to Come" (1959). Ornette's first album on Altantic.

Composition by Ornette Coleman
