Why were we "off the air" for eight hours Thursday?

We're back up and running and I wish I could tell you what happened, but I don't know. However, I do know we'll be getting a bill from my programmer for putting things right.

If anyone feels inclined to chip in and help with this extraordinary expense (about two weeks net revenue up in smoke), we'd appreciate it. Every little bit helps a lot.

Japan - 1982

Art Blakey's "Jazz Messengers" perform in Japan in 1982.

Art Blakey, drums
Freddy Hubbard, trumpet
Terence Blanchard, trumpet
Donald Harrison, alto sax
Billy Pierce, tenor sax
John O'Neal, piano
Charles Fambrough, bass

At times Art Blakey as been referred to as "The Tiger of Jazz" for his consistently fierce percussion approach.

In this performance his bassist Charles Fambrough plays an equally fundamental role in holding the All Star group together with the master.
