The Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble perform Duke Ellington's composition "Cotton Club Stomp" at the 2015 Essentially Ellington Competition and Festival in New York City.
Essentially Ellington is an annual program in which fifteen of North America's best high school jazz bands perform for a panel of judges. Occurring in May, the competition includes jam sessions, workshops, an awards ceremony, and a closing performance from the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.
