"Timex All-Stars"

Louis Armstong joins Dizzy Gillespie on the "Timex All-Star Jazz Show" in 1959 hosted by Jackie Gleason.

Featuring their first and only performance together ever captured on film, legendary jazz trumpeter Louis Armstrong collaborates with his younger counterpart Dizzy Gillespie for an unforgettable moment in television history.

Some twenty years after Armstrong introduced his stylistic innovations to the jazz world, Gillespie would be among the first to start playing a new form of jazz known as bebop in the mid-1940s.
