Why were we "off the air" for eight hours Thursday?

We're back up and running and I wish I could tell you what happened, but I don't know. However, I do know we'll be getting a bill from my programmer for putting things right.

If anyone feels inclined to chip in and help with this extraordinary expense (about two weeks net revenue up in smoke), we'd appreciate it. Every little bit helps a lot.

I wish we could find good video of Eddie Jefferson, but so far we've come up with nothing.

Jefferson is credited as one of the main innovators of "vocalese," a musical style in which lyrics are set to an instrumental composition or solo. Jefferson credited Leo Watson as his main influence.

You've probably heard his "Moody's Mood for Love."

Jefferson's performances "Parker's Mood" and "Filthy McNasty" were also big hits for him.
