"Foggy Day" was composed by George Gershwin, with lyrics by Ira Gershwin.

Pianist and jazz singer Hazel Scott was the first African American woman to have her own television show.

"The Hazel Scott Show" premiered on July 3, 1950, but was canceled that September following her investigation by the House Un-American Activities Committee.
