Composed by Argentine Sergio Mihanovich in 1963, “Some Time Ago” has since become a jazz standard. It has since been covered by Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, Tony Bennett and George Shearing. Mihanovich claimed that separating from his wife at this time of its composition gave it such weight.
