Golden Age of TV

Ben Webster swings the Duke Ellington tune on American TV c. 1960

Ben Webster, tenor sax
Buck Clayton, trumpet
Vic Dickenson, trombone
Hank Jones, piano
George Duvivier, bass
Jo Jones, drums

It's a simple 12 bar blues in - you guessed it - C major

Credit for the tune went New Orleans-born clarinetist Barney Bigard and Duke Ellington. When Ellington veteran Barney Bigard moved to the Louis Armstrong band, it became a favorite of Armstrong's too.
