One thing was for sure about Miles Davis, he was always full of surprises.

He'd go long periods of ignoring and even scorning the media - and then he'd change his mind.

In the 1980s, he did several interviews with unlikely suspects. This one with Bryant Gumbel on NBC's Today show in 1982. He also did one with Bill Boggs on a local TV station.

That's how we grow.
