Beboppin' Lover Man

In this film clip recorded in a little restaurant in Amersfoort, Holland in 1959 by the KRO broadcasting company, Rahsaan Roland Kirk performs "Lover Man" with the trio of Swiss pianist George Gruntz.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk (August 7, 1936 - December 5, 1977) was a flutist, saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist of American jazz. He has been know for his ability to play three saxophones at once and is considered (along with Herbie Mann), the founder of modern jazz flute. His very personal technique to the flute has inspired many other musicians, including the leader of Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson.
