Why were we "off the air" for eight hours Thursday?

We're back up and running and I wish I could tell you what happened, but I don't know. However, I do know we'll be getting a bill from my programmer for putting things right.

If anyone feels inclined to chip in and help with this extraordinary expense (about two weeks net revenue up in smoke), we'd appreciate it. Every little bit helps a lot.

In rare early 1950s studio footage Charlie Parker is featured performing with his rhythm section.

Parker is rather remarkable for having four different compositions drafted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Today he is widely celebrated for his ground breaking musical achievements appears in both the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame and was the recipient of a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
