Some spirited singing and dancing by Marie Bryant and Paul White

The Duke Ellington Orchestra made five Soundies in 1942, filmed versions of three-minute songs, sometimes with a story attached.

While the Ellington big band is not seen in this Soundie, it is certainly heard behind the singing and dancing of Marie Bryant (who two years later would be part of the famed Jamming The Blues short with Lester Young) and Paul White.

“Bli Blip” is a slight jive piece that will give viewers a smile.
