Double bassist Harold Simon Miller was born April 25, 1941 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Harry Miller's career began in London with the British pop R&B group "Manfred Mann."

Originally from South Africa he became on of the UK's most sought after bassists.

Thorough the 1960s and '70s he would proceed to become immersed in the free jazz explosion in England performing with the more prominent members of the scene including Mike Westbrook, Chris McGregor, Louis Moholo, Keith Tippett, and Elton Dean.

Miller moved to the Netherlands in the late 1970s where he worked with Dutch bandleader Willem Breuker.

Recorded by "Elton Dean's Ninesense" in London on July 26, 1977.
