A lively version of a Lester Young tune
At the 2002 Jazzwoche Burghausen, a German jazz festival, veteran tenor-saxophonist Plas Johnson led an all-star quintet through “Lester Leaps In.”
Jay Thomas, who has a fairly cool and light sound, solos first before being followed by Plas Johnson who has a deeper and larger tone.
The two tenors enjoy themselves trading off before they bring the spirited performance to a close.
