Trio Da Paz, comprised of guitarist Romero Lubambo, bassist Nilson Matta and drummer Duduka Da Fonseca, has long been one of the top Brazilian jazz groups on the scene.

The trio is more intense in its playing than one might expect even while they stay melodic and at a quiet volume.

On July 1, 2007, Trio Da Paz teamed up with the fine vibraphonist Joe Locke for a concert at JazzBaltica in Germany, and their rendition of “Dona Maria” is quite fiery and stirring.
