While “When The Saints Go Marching In” was originally a traditional gospel song, Louis Armstrong’s 1938 recording made it into a Dixieland jazz standard.

This version, from Apr. 2, 1962, was filmed as part of a series of half-hour jazz programs sponsored by the Goodyear Tire Company.

With fine solos from trombonist Trummy Young and clarinetist Joe Darensbourg, some outstanding playing by Satch, and wordless high-note singing from Jewel Brown, Louis Armstrong and his All-Stars perform a version of the Saints just as they did in concerts during the era.
