Louisiana Red sings his trademark song

Born Iverson Minter (1932-2012) and known as Louisiana Red, the powerful blues singer-guitarist is featured performing his famous “Sweet Blood Call” in 1975.

An orphan by the time he was five, after seeing action in the Korean War, Louisiana Red certainly had the right to sing the blues.

He first recorded as a leader in 1952, worked for a time with John Lee Hooker, and found success after he began to record his own albums starting in 1963.

Louisiana Red stayed busy throughout his life, spending his last 30 years living in Germany.

His powerful vocal and perfectly complementary country blues guitar make “Sweet Blood Call” quite memorable.
