Baden-Baden, Germany, 1961

Coltrane turns this Cole Porter tune into a lullaby. I can't imagine a better way to put a baby to sleep.

Porter wrote the tune in 1944 for a revue put on by 'Broadway' Billy Rose.

The trick to this tune is Porter begins in A♭ major and ends on a A♭ minor cord, so the song literally makes the "change from major to minor."

Personnel:

John Coltrane, soprano sax
McCoy Tyner, piano
Reggie Workman, bass
Elvin Jones, drums
