Sammy Davis Jr may have been best known for singing but he was also a virtuosic tap-dancer, a masterful impressionist, a fine actor, and a comic talent; he could also play credible trumpet and vibes.
However none of those talents are in evidence on this performance from 1972 which features Sammy Davis Jr. as a very good drummer and briefly playing some blues piano.
It is just another reason why he was known as the world’s greatest entertainer; imagine if he had played drums more often.
