The Benny Goodman Orchestra featuring Gene Krupa, perform their hit "Sing, Sing, Sing" in the 1937 film "Hollywood Hotel."

“Sing, Sing, Sing (With A Swing)” was written and first recorded in 1936 by Louis Prima.

Personnel:

Benny Goodman, clarinet
Harry James, trumpet
Gene Krupa, drums

Gene Krupa became active on the Chicago scene in 1927 after gaining a couple of years experience as a drummer with bands in Wisconsin.

He made his first recordings the same year with a group led by jazzmen Eddie Condon and Red McKenzie.

Krupa joined the Benny Goodman Orchestra in 1934 and became an overnight sensation.

His drum breaks on Goodman's hit "Sing, Sing, Sing" were the first extended solos to appear on record.
