In 1967 George Duke began experimenting with jazz fusion on recordings with violinist Jean-Luc Ponty.

He toured Europe with Billy Cobham throughout the '70s.

Heavily influenced by R&B, Duke released a string of funk based instrumental tracks.

Duke was a jazz keyboard innovator responsible for more than 30 solo albums. He also collaborated with Frank Zappa.
