Bobby Shew appears playing Shewhorn on the BBC TV's "Pebble Mill at One" during the 1980s.
In the 1960s Bobby Shew played in the bands of Tommy Dorsey, then Woody Herman and Buddy Rich.
The trumpeter left Las Vegas, relocating to Los Angles in 1972.
There he played in the "Toshiko Akiyoshi-Lew Tabackin Big Band", and with drummer Louie Bellson.
A innovative musician he has developed his own type of trumpet, referred as a 'Shew-horn', that features both a standard and muted bell.
Shew is currently leader of the "Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra" in New Mexico.
That's how we grow.
