Byrd: September 16, 1925 – December 2, 1999

Written by Antônio Carlos Jobim for his eponymous 1967 album, “Wave” – in Portuguese also known as, “Vou Te Contar,” or “I Will Tell” – would in only a couple of years' time receive a Frank Sinatra cover. “Wave's” original composition was finishing up a hot decade for Jobim, as he had won four Grammys just two years prior.

Jobim is best known for having written “The Girl from Ipanema.”

Charlie Byrd, guitar
Joe Byrd, bass
Chuck Redd, drums
