From the 2013 album: "The Bridge"

Charnett Moffett performs his original bass solo titled "The Bridge."

A graduate of New York's Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of performing Arts Charnett Moffett, the son of drummer Charles Moffett, went on to study at Mannes College of Music and the Juilliard School of Music before launching his recording career with an appearance on Branford Marsalis' 1983 debut "Scenes in the City."

He joined the Quintet of Branfords brother Wynton the following year in addition to being featured on guitarist Stanley Jordan's best selling debut "Magic Touch" in 1985.

He played with drummer Tony Williams' Quintet for two albums on Blue Note prior to singing with the label himself in 1987 as a solo artist.

After releasing albums on a number of labels Charnett Moffett signed with Motema Music in 2008 and has since produced the three albums, "The Art of Improvisation" (2009), "Treasure" (2010), and "The Bridge" (2013).
