David Murray Infinity Quartet

The "David Murray Infinity Quartet" perform at the Jazzit Musik Club in 2013.

Personnel:

David Murray, alto sax
Rod Williams, piano
Jaribu Shaheed, bass
Nasheet Waits, drums

After feeling the initial influence of free jazz David Murray deviated from the course of most tenor saxophonists by not emulating Charlie Parker.

He chose instead to follow styles of mainstream tenors Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster.

Additionally known for bass clarinet and at times alto sax, Murray has recorded prolifically since the '70s.

Billy Strayhorn wrote "Chelsea Bridge" in 1941.
