Switzerland, 1959
This is a medley comprised of three songs: "Black and Tan Fantasy," "Creole Love Call" and "The Mooch."
An Ellington orchestra reed player, Rudy Jackson, had tried to hock "Creole Love Call" to Duke. But Duke later fired Jackson after Duke was sued for copyright infringement, as "Creole's" main melody was ripped off of Joe "King" Oliver. Though Duke fired Jackson, Ellington still won out in a subsequent copyright lawsuit by Oliver.
Barney Bigard was hired to replace Jackson.
