Written by Jimmy McHugh and released in 1930, “On The Sunny Side of the Street” has since become a jazz standard. It's received covers by greats such as Art Tatum, Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman and Count Basie.
In the '60s Gene Kelly recorded a cover claiming he'd be truly happy, “on the sunny side of the street,” if he were as rich as David Rockefeller. Another famous '60s cover was by Frank Sinatra, who laid it to vinyl alongside Billy May.
