Jimmy Cobb's So What Band perform "Blue in Green" at Bridgestone Music Festival '09

Drummer, Jimmy Cobb's most famous work was on Miles Davis' 1959 album "Kind of Blue" and on subcequent Davis LP's including "Sketches of Spain", and "Miles Davis at Carnegie Hall."

Over the years he has played with some of the biggest names in jazz including Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Pearl Bailey, Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane, Sarah Vaughan and many more.

He formed his "So What" Band in 2011 as a tribute to the music of Miles Davis.

Jimmy Cobb was the recipient of the "Don Redman Heritage" award in June 2008, and the 2009 National Endowment for the Arts "Jazz Masters" award in October of that year.
