Why were we "off the air" for eight hours Thursday?

We're back up and running and I wish I could tell you what happened, but I don't know. However, I do know we'll be getting a bill from my programmer for putting things right.

If anyone feels inclined to chip in and help with this extraordinary expense (about two weeks net revenue up in smoke), we'd appreciate it. Every little bit helps a lot.

Featuring Herman Riley


The "Jimmy Smith Quartet" appear live at the ZDF Jazz Club on German TV in 1988.

All-around sideman Herman Riley is featured in the quartet of his longtime collaborator Jimmy Smith.

Riley had performed regularly at the Los Angeles supper club owned by Smith during the 1970s, along with fellow saxophonist John F. Phillips.
