Still playing at the time of this writing, Wayne Shorter is an exceedingly talent improviser. Shorter's won several Grammy awards, and jazz critics and fans from across the spectrum have named him among their most favorite performers.
Shorter would play with the Second Great Quintet, led by none other than Miles Davis. Following Davis' death, Shorter and Herbie Hancock – on piano, above – would collaborate on a tribute album.
