A live version of Rodriguez’s 1967 hit

Pianist-composer Pete Rodriguez was raised in the Bronx, formed his first band (“La Magnifica) in the mid-1960s, and the success of his second album gave him his lifelong title of “The King Of Boogaloo.”

Rodriguez recorded many songs that were popular in the salsa world including 1967’s “I Like It Like That.”

In this stirring version from the Boogaloo Legends Concerts of May 8-9, 2015 which was organized and filmed by the Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture, Rodriguez, singer Eddie Claudio, Left Maldonado on congas, and Benny Bonilla on timbales are joined by the Boogaloo Revue Orchestra and the excellent Bombazo Dance Co.
