Earlier this year, I was invited to go on a jazz cruise by Entertainment Cruise Productions.

I’ve never been on a cruise before and honestly never even thought about going on a cruise, but seven days of top flight live jazz was too good to say “no” to so I went along.

My conclusion: You don’t have to die before you go to heaven.

You can approximate it by getting on a ship – really a floating city of jazz – in the winter and cruising the Caribbean for a week, wining and dining and hearing as much great live music as you can handle.

If there’s a downside, I didn’t find it – unless it’s re-adapting to a world without great live jazz every day just a few steps from your doorway.
