South African jazz pianist Bokani Dyer was born in Botswana, began on the piano when he was 14, and graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2008.
Dyer worked with the groove-oriented band Soul Housing project, organized his Swiss Quintet, and has toured several times throughout Africa and Europe, developing his own voice on the piano.
On this LiveStream from June 21, 2020, Bokani Dyer’s group (which is actually a quartet) features Dyer along with altoist and flutist Mthunzi Mvuby, bassist Romy Bfrauteseth, and drummer Spheleo Mazibuko on a set that includes a mellow spiritual-oriented ballad and several hard-driving pieces, works that are a bit influenced by the John Coltrane Quartet.
Altoist Mvuby’s passionate flights, the inventive piano solos, and the tightness of the rhythm section on the leader’s post bop originals show that high-quality modern jazz does not necessarily have to emanate from New York or the U.S; jazz has truly become a universal language.

Known as Miss Elie, Emilie Lesbros was born and raised in Marseille, France where she gained experience as a singer and songwriter.
Now based in New York, she sings and plays violin, piano and guitar in a variety of types of groups including jazz, electronic music, performance art and classical, often working with bassist Barre Phillips.
On her LiveStream during a windy day on June 17, 2020, Miss Elie performs her dramatic pieces while backed by electronic tracks, putting plenty of emotion into her brand of pop-oriented music, displaying a wide range.

The daughter of guitarist Steve Masakowski, Sasha Masakowski is an inventive and versatile jazz singer with an attractive voice from New Orleans who is clearly not shy to take chances.
She has performed trad jazz, fusion and rock as a singer and keyboardist, appearing at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival five years and working with a variety of New Orleans musicians including Irvin Mayfield.
On her LiveStream from June 12, 2020, performed on the roof of the Pontchartrain Hotel in New Orleans, she utilizes the stage name of Tra$h Magnolia and accompanies herself on electronics.
Sasha Masakowski sings over the rhythmic patterns that she sets, sometimes she creates a choir through overdubbing, she has her own call and response, and comes up with infectious and intriguing music that is quite atmospheric.
