A promising young vocalist, Vanessa Racci sings jazz and songs from her Italian-American heritage.
She grew up in New York, sang in musical theater, and became interested in jazz when she was in her early twenties.
Ms. Racci formed her own trio, recorded her debut album Italiana Fresca (reinventing Italian-American classics) and performed at Birdland in 2017, following it up with Jazzy Italian in 2019 which is comprised of jazz songs influenced or written by Italian-Americans.
On her LiveStream from Sept. 18, 2020, Vanessa Racci (singing over prerecorded rhythm tracks) performs the dixieland standard “At The Jazz Band Ball,” “Make Love To Me” (a vocalized “Tin Roof Blues”), “You Made Me Love You,” “Sunday Kind Of Love,” and a couple of Italian ballads with spirit and joy.
