Pianist Harold López-Nussa was born in Havana, Cuba; his father was a drummer-percussionist, his mother a piano teacher and his uncle a pianist.

López-Nussa started playing piano when he was eight, became a professional pianist after college, worked with the Cuban National Symphony in 2003 and in 2005 won a piano contest at the Montreux Jazz Festival.

He has since led nine albums of his own and developed into a very original and energetic jazz pianist.

On his LiveStream from June 27, 2020, the pianist plays duets with his brother drummer-percussionist Ruy Adrián López-Nussa which are mostly high-powered originals filled with rich themes and creativity.
