John Coltrane knew he was dying and specifically requested that Ornette play at his funeral service.

This clip is said to be the recording of that performance and the name of the composition is reportedly: Holiday for a Graveyard

The person who posted this to YouTube originally is a serious collector who has posted a large number of authentic live jazz recordings.

Recorded at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church NYC (July 21, 1967)

Personnel:

Ornette Coleman – alto
Charlie Haden, David Izenzon – bass
Charles Moffet – drums
