Guitarist Paul Meyers studied piano, violin and classical guitar before discovering jazz.

He studied at the State University of New York at Postdam, the Eastman School of Music, and the New England Conservatory where he graduated in 1979, moving to New York in 1980.

Since then he has worked with such notables as Red Rodney, Gary Burton, Kenny Barron, Clare Fischer, Sonny Fortune, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Werner, Geri Allen, the Woody Herman Orchestra, Jon Hendricks, Andy Bey and Karrin Allyson in addition to leading his own groups and heading many of his own CDs.

For his LiveStream from June 27, 2020, Paul Meyers performs a wide-ranging solo guitar set that includes a sophisticated blues, Brazilian-flavored music, “Day By Day,” and other songs, all tastefully played with the facility of a one-man orchestra.
