Review:

This is the twenty sixth in a series of special Jazz on the Tube reviews of live stream performances.

Support live music – even when it’s streamed!

Born and raised in Israel, Yotam Silberstein took up the guitar early, performed at the Umbria Jazz Festival when he was 21, and moved to New York in 2005 to attend the New School.

He has since worked with James Moody, the Heath Brothers, Roy Hargrove, George Coleman, Paquito D’Rivera, John Patitucci, Monty Alexander and many others,

Equally skilled at straight ahead jazz and Brazilian music, Yotam Silberstein has an attractive tone and an accessible yet creative improvising style.

On this solo Live Stream from May 8, 2020, one of at least eight that he has performed thus far, Yotam Silberstein plays his brand of beautiful music that includes “How Long Has This Been Going On,” “Embraceable You,” and a Brazilian song, showing that in his hands the guitar is a full orchestra.
