Singer Alma Micic and guitarist Rale Micic were both born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia.

Alma began singing as the main vocalist with the Radio Belgrade Big Band when she was 16 and performed locally; in 1995 she moved to the U.S. to attend Berklee where she graduated in 1999.

She has worked and taught in the U.S. ever since.

Rale Micic also graduated from Berklee and has recorded regularly for the CTA label.

On their set of charming and lightly swinging voice-guitar duets from their LiveStream from July 24, 2020, Alma displays a quiet but powerful voice while Rale is a one-man orchestra who makes the absence of piano, bass and drums unnoticeable.

The duo performs “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To,” “Moonglow,” “Estaté,” and a few originals, some of which could pass as jazz standards; Alma and Rale Micic are well worth discovering.
